ART

Art often comes to mind when customers sit at a table in Piazza Duomo as every dish crafted by Chef Crippa elevates ingredients and flavours, presenting them with striking visual flair. At Piazza Duomo, art is a tangible presence that can be admired in every room, where the walls are adorned with frescoes, tapestries, and artworks.

A dreamlike fresco adorns the vaulted ceiling of the Pink Room, featuring imagery favoured by the Neapolitan artist, including shooting stars, boats, and suspended parcels.  At the centre, a large vine leaf embraces a globe – an homage to the Ceretto family and a symbol of the meeting of lands, much like Enrico Crippa’s dishes, which blend cultures and flavours into a unique harmony.

The room that houses the tapestries created by set designer Louise Nevelson for the opera Orfeo ed Euridice is more intimate and secluded. Shades of black, accented by dove grey and beige, add to the intensity of the time spent in Piazza Duomo.

A photo of Anselm Kiefer, donated by the Ceretto family for the exhibition 10 Artists for Steven, pays tribute to their mutual friend Steven Shailer with an image of the ocean he loved, accompanied by Gregory Corso’s epitaph.

Guests are welcomed into the lounge by the works of three artists. Three large lithographs by Andrew Lord depict his famous porcelain sculptures.

Before leaving, the work of Jean Marie Del Moral portrays one of Joan Miró's playful figurines, a symbol of the Spanish artist’s creativity.

ART BITES Menus

ART BITES Menus

These menus were created during a series of dinners prepared by Chef Enrico Crippa to honour the artists featured in the exhibitions organised by the Ceretto family. Here, the cuisine flows with the rhythms of emotion and the cycles of nature, resembling a true artistic performance.

Each dish arises from the chef’s imagination and takes shape through a gesture, much like an artist’s sketch. «It doesn't matter whether I am a cook or an artist: as long as I can stir emotions, I will consider my mission accomplished».
